Chelsi Bullard is a documentary filmmaker and editor with an unwavering desire to restore beauty, well-being and complexity in stories about Black folx and other minoritized groups.

Her directorial work has been supported by Sundance Institute, Chicken & Egg Films, Film Independent, Hot Docs Forum and others. Her short film ON THE LEDGE premiered at DOC NYC in 2016 and went on to screen at numerous other festivals. Editing credits include the feature documentary THE DADS (SXSW, 2026) directed by Luchina Fisher and Executive Produced by Dwyane Wade. She also recently edited the short documentary BACK TO BLACKDOM (Mountainfilm, 2026) directed by Zoë Colfax and produced by Luchina Fisher as a part of Firelight x PBS’ HOMEGROWN: Horizons series. 

Chelsi is an alum of the UnionDocs Collaborative Studio, the Gotham Documentary Feature Lab, and the DocSalon Toolbox Programme at the European Film Market (EFM) at Berlinale.

She is based in New York City.
