KIDS CAN SPIT (in progress)
Five teams at a Brooklyn public high school are finding their voices in science as they write lyrics for a unique science-themed rap competition. They intersect science concepts with personal struggles of racism, homophobia and drug addiction. It’s not about who wins or loses, but how hip hop and science forge a new form of self-expression that helps teens who are traditionally disengaged in science classrooms to excel in life.
